RaisePro-48T Deployment

MEDATech Borterra’s RaisePro-48T prototype drill is back in the field, supporting another underground drilling application in northern Ontario.

The RaisePro is a multi-purpose drill engineered to bridge the gap between ITH drilling and raise boring. This machine represents best-in-class mobility, productivity and safety, particularly in large-diameter drilling applications.

As the deployment progresses, we look forward to sharing more from the field, including insights from the mine site regarding the RaisePro in operation. Stay tuned to our LinkedIn channel for more updates.

Putting Mine Electrification to the Test

Image Not Found

MEDATech is working with partners in the critical minerals and graphite sectors to evaluate the feasibility of battery-electric haulage at two mine sites.

The study combines real-world testing with our battery-electric demonstration haul truck and advanced vehicle simulation. The truck will complete an on-site trial, collecting GPS, energy-use and vehicle performance data under representative operating conditions. That data will then be used to validate and refine MEDATech’s simulation model.

By combining physical trials with simulation, the study provides a data-driven way to evaluate electrification before committing to a full fleet—helping mine operators better understand performance, infrastructure requirements and the potential business case for battery-electric operations.

Diesel-Electric Hybrid Retrofit Kits in High Demand

We continue to ship hybrid diesel-electric retrofit kits from our new manufacturing facility in Collingwood, Ontario. Developed for an OEM customer that builds heavy-duty workover rigs for the oil patch, the kits enable the rigs to operate on battery power for approximately 8.5 hours of a typical 10-hour shift—significantly reducing reliance on diesel while maintaining the performance required for demanding field operations.

The hybrid-electric setup offers plentiful winching power, fine hydraulic control, quiet, low-vibration operation, and advanced safety features, as well as an 80% reduction in diesel consumption. Each kit builds on the last, incorporating incremental improvements and new capabilities. The latest evolution includes a cold-weather package designed to support reliable performance in challenging conditions.
