DO
As an Electrical Service Technologist/Engineer you will be on the front line, providing engineering customer support and working with suppliers to resolve engineering, field and product integration puzzles. You will assist with sales; perform conceptual design & analysis, produce detailed drawings and schematics using Solidworks Electrical and AutoCAD, travel to customer site, and much more.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering customer support and troubleshooting, working with customers and suppliers to resolve engineering, field and product integration issues.
Field work related to machinery which may include oversight, commissioning or troubleshooting at customer site.
Research of standards and regulations for design requirements of:
- components and/or systems to meet customer design requirements
- competitive products to enhance understanding of market and machine applications
Includes component pricing for estimating engineering requirements of potential projects
Sales assistance in quoting component repair and customer support tasks.
Testing of components, assemblies or complete machines in accordance with customer requirements using various instrumentation.
Report Writing and/or PowerPoint presentations as required to identify the scope, objectives, and/or research findings of projects and provide substantiation of the work involved to meet project requirements.
Conceptual Design of electrical and electronic control systems; of components, assemblies and systems using solid modeling software based on customer scope of machine requirements and direction from senior control systems engineering staff. Includes developing schematics and specifying electrical components required to satisfy the physical needs of the machine design, including preliminary cost analysis.
Design and Analysis of electrical system parameters including but not limited to proper sizing of components, application of safety standards and generally accepted electrical engineering practices.
Detail Drawings and schematics using Solidworks Electrical and AutoCAD, produce schematics and wiring layout drawings as required for components, assemblies and systems, as well as BOMs (Bills of Material).
Engineering Changes substantiation and documentation generation.
Prototype Assembly – systems or machines.
Position Qualification and Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar
- The following experience would be considered an asset:
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical control systems
- 2D/3D CAD software experience
- Hands-on experience with various hand/power tools, welding, etc.

- Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative to complete tasks

- Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
